Invest Wisely on Wood/Timber Outdoor Furniture

Having a perfect wooden outdoor furniture setting on your backyard is refreshing and cool. When purchasing garden furniture sets, the question often arises as to what kind of furniture to buy. Tough, hard, strong, firm, durable – five words we usually use to describe TIMBER. Wooden garden furniture is durable, made of natural materials, and is very dynamic.

The raw material which timber comes from is divided into two classes of wood: hardwood and softwood. Hardwoods are used in making doors, cabinets, paneling, walls and decorative moldings where a finishing look is required. Softwoods are commonly used into wall partitions and parallel beams to support a roof, floor or ceiling.

Wood is natural, it is not just eco-friendly but it also complements with your garden’s environment. It gives fresh ambiance to the backyard and is very pleasing to the eyes. Aside from the fact that timber looks naturally beautiful, it does not require any extravagant coats of paint or polish to make it look attractive.

Timber furniture is available in different styles or forms and their prices range. This makes the furniture affordable and easy to find. With the right treatment, timber furniture can last for several years. Wood materials also improve as they age rather than deteriorate – unlike some other materials. In maintaining timber furniture, use a clean, soft cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid scratching the surfaces of the wood to prevent any changes in its appearance. In case of spills, washing with mild soap is the most recommended solution to clean up the mess. Strong detergents and other chemical cleaners are a no-no, as they worsen the appearance of the wood.

Apart from being natural and durable, wooden furniture is safe and healthy because it doesn’t emit any harmful toxins, nor is it dangerous to manufacture. It is important to remember that though plastic and aluminum are now becoming popular and are also quite sophisticated, the manufacturing of these pieces of furniture generates a lot of toxins and consumes a lot of energy resources. Wood/timber which is natural, is also one of the best investments you can make when it comes to remodelling or adding decorations to your home.
